Vinification: Made from two main grapes Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from low-yielding old vines, located at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. It has an ageing of 14 months in oak barrels.
The Family Castaño is today a highly respected wine producer in Yecla, Murcia, South Eastern Spain, founded in 1950 although it did not started elaborating bottled-wine until the 80’s, now produced a wide range of good quality wines with competitive prices mostly from the local variety Monastrell from their own nearly 450 hectares of vineyards in four different estates spread throughout the D.O. Yecla.
Tasting Notes: Highly expressive and modern wine. Mature dark fruit aromas, blueberry and blackberry, with spice and mineral notes. Good weight and soft entry, notes of licorice and succulent concentration of ripe fruit, firm and elegant tannins, very persistent and long.
