Production: 

A single estate wine from its own vineyard located in El Molar, Priorat, made from selected ripe Carignan grapes sourced from very old Mediterranean Centenarian vines planted at the beginning of the last century, growing on black slate terraces along steep slopes.

The wine was submitted to a gentle extraction, maceration, and fermentation process in 600-liter French oak barrels, followed by 18 months of aging. The vineyard has been organically farmed since 2007.

The Saurí Vinyes Velles is part of the Solà d’Ares company, wines elaborated by Antoni Sanchez Ortiz in charge of this tiny but very interesting Project, professional in the wine business and fully committed to quality. Antoni has a formidable Curriculum when it comes to winemaking and brings his formidable experience and youthful passion to the making of this beautifully crafted wine. He is also the winemaker and viticulturist in Melis, D.O.Q. Priorat, and in Terrer d’Aubert, D.O. Tarragona, both mid-sized wineries that bet on quality winemaking. 

Tasting Notes: 

Fine and round with excellent acidity, a classy ripe fruit nose, and subtly spicy with hints of violet, strawberry, and vanilla. Warm and generous, jam-packed with spices, liquorice and dried violets. Marked tannins, but well-integrated.
