Malleolus is one of the three wines that belong to the Malleolus family range, (Malleolus, Malleolus Valderramiro and Malleolus de Sanchomartín), benchmark wines that represent the elegance, delicacy and distinction of the winery's wines. These are highly acclaimed wines of very limited production.

It is a single-vineyard wine made from the Tempranillo grape, locally known as Tinto Fino. The grapes are grown on soils with a high concentration of limestone in a small, one-hectare plot planted in 1944 and grafted in 1964. These are very old vines with very low yields located in the municipality of Pesquera de Duero.

Production: 

Alcoholic fermentation and maceration in small stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: 

Deep cherry red colour. Powerful and elegant wine. Excellent combination of ripe black fruit aromas with hints of red berries. Notes of creamy wood with a jammy background. In the mouth, shows complexity, notes of chocolate with hints of graphite and spices, firm tannins and good acidity. It has a very persistent finish.

Note: It is recommended to decant this wine at least 1 hour before serving. A wine with good ageing potential, and will, after a few years in bottle, gain complexity and balance.
