Ánima de Cal Pagès Solans, vi de paratge, is a single-varietal wine made from Grenache grapes grown on the Trosset Vineyard in the paratge of the Solans, a century-old 3-hectare vineyard planted in the early 20th century by the great-grandfather of Ádria, the current generation in charge of the winery. This is a highly emblematic wine produced by Celler L'antic Magatzem and is bottled in very limited quantities.

Produced by L'antic Magatzem, a small family-run winery located in the village of Porrera in the acclaimed Priorat wine region. It is a young project with deep roots in the region. It was set up in 2022 by Adriá Domenech Simon, a young winegrower and the sixth generation of a family of winegrowers, the Cal Pagès family, who, for decades, have cultivated and cared for the family lands, ensuring that their legacy is passed down from generation to generation in "its best form". 

Adriá is the first generation in the family to take the step of making his own wine using the grapes from the family vineyards, which were previously sold to other producers. To develop his project, he built the winery in the basement of his mother's family home, Cal Simó, in a space that had previously been used as a warehouse; hence, its name, "magatzem".

Adriá crafts all the wines from the family estate grapes, located in the district of Porrera: "Les Sentius" and "El Bosc". Despite being such a young winery, it has already received numerous awards for the quality of its limited-production wines.

Production:

This single-estate wine comes from the single vineyard in the area of "Les Solans". Centenarian vines growing on south-facing slopes in licorella soil.

The wine is aged for 12 months in semi-new French oak barrels.

Limited production of 292 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

Medium-intense cherry red colour. A wine that reflects the tipicity of the Grenache, one of the main native varieties of the Priorat region. Rich in aromas, ripe red and black fruits, baked cherry and raspberry aromas, floral touches and spicy hints.

On the palate, it is smooth with a silky texture and excellent balance between wood, fruit and acidity, with a slight mineral and spicy background. Rich and succulent fruit which should develop very nicely.
