The Glenrothes distillery was founded by William Grant & Co. in the town of Rothes, at the foot of the Mannoch Hills, in 1878.

The Glenrothes is bottled only when it is ready, at the peak of its maturity. For this reason each individual cask is carefully checked and sampled numerous times. Its unique flavours of sweetness, pure fruitiness, and crispness come from an exceptionally slow distillation process in tall copper stills.

Glenrothes displays a sweet, fruity character, especially flavours of ripe fruits, juicy citrus, creamy vanilla, and slightly spicy.
