The white wine by Bodega Remírez de Ganuza is a white wine fermented and aged in barrel. It is the result of years of research, acquiring knowledge, implementing new developed infrastructures, and, at the same time, demanding the maximum quality of the grapes.
A blend of mainly Viura and Malvasia with other local varieties. Grapes sourced from a selection of the best grapes from old vines with an average age of over 60 years from its 60 hectares of vineyards spread over four villages in the Rioja Alavesa: Samaniego, Leza, Elciego, and Laguardia.
Production:
Harvested manually. Controlled temperature of the bunches prior to manual selection of the grapes. Made from unpressed free-run juice.
Fermented and aged for 8 months in new 225-liter French oak barrels, practicing batonage to achieve greater complexity by turning the barrels.
Tasting Notes:
Intense yellow colour; bright. Clean, elegant, and complex on the nose, aromas of white stone fruit, toast, and citrus notes. On the palate, it shows great complexity, unctuous yet fresh, with excellent acidity and minerally, well-integrated wood.
A wine with great aging potential.
