A dry white wine of limited production elaborated from centenary Viura vines sourced from a single vineyard, the Capellania Vineyard, 6 hectares located at the highest point of the Ygay Estate, 480 metres above sea level.

Production:

Hand-harvested and slowly fermented at low temperature in stainless steel vats for 3 weeks.

Aged for 20 months in 225-litre new French oak barrels and another 15 months in concrete vats.

Tasting Notes:

A gastronomic white from Rioja displaying great complexity, structure and elegance. Liquorice, sweet spices, fennel and white flowers are very intense on the nose. Full-bodied and unctuous, with good acidity and an elegant, lasting aftertaste. A white wine that has the soul of a red wine with a great bouquet and character that perfectly accompanies a great variety of rich dishes

Notes: It is recommended to let it breathe at least 20 minutes before serving. Will gain complexity with time in bottle.

Marqués de Murrieta, founded in 1852, is a family business and one of the most famous Rioja producers. This project is a way of life; with more than 150 years of history, it has succeeded in adapting to modern times and maintaining, at the same time, the winery’s identity with a perfect balance between tradition and modernity, which is transmitted and reflected in all the wines they produce. The winery includes almost 300 ha of vineyards in the southernmost part of la Rioja Alta. The extension of its estate makes Marques de Murrieta one of the few Spanish wineries whose wine is 100% elaborated with their own grapes, thus enabling them to take extra care of the vineyards and to have total control over them.
