Sourced from small grain Muscat grapes grown in the gently sloping hillsides, the chalky soils and the dry climate with many hours of sunshine are perfect for the grapes to find here their ideal microclimate for growing.

Tasting Notes:

Dry wine, displaying elegant and fresh aromas of peaches, apricot, and pineapple are combined with lively citrus aromas and revealing touches of white floral notes. Crisp and citrussy, with a pleasant fresh and frutal character, good peach fruit flavours in the mouth, and good refreshing acidity that finishes on an elegant citrus note.

Notes: Best enjoyed in youth over the next 1-2 years. It pairs perfectly with all kinds of fish and seafood, soft cheeses, pastas, and white meats, it can be enjoyed on its own or with the aperitif.

THE WINERY

Bodegas Juan Gil is a family-owned winery that dates back to 1916. It was the third generation who managed to consolidate the winery with a reliable, efficient, and good-quality wine image that the present generation is working hard to preserve and further develop.

The wineyards are located northwest of Jumilla and consist of 350 hectares. Of these, 120 hectares surround the winery, and the rest are scattered in smaller parcels, always within the area called “Termino de Arriba”, a perfect zone for wine growing. This region is located at an altitude of 700–850 metres above sea level and has sandy, chalky, rocky soil on the surface and is very poor in nutrients. Monastrell is the main variety grown, which is native to Jumilla and perfectly adapted to the climatic conditions in this area, for which is used in all the wines produced in the winery.
