Tamerán Malvasía Volcánica is a single varietal of this native grape from Gran Canaria. It is a dry, aged white wine of great freshness, with a distinctly mineral profile that faithfully honours its origins. The grapes come from a 6-hectare estate situated in an idyllic location in the centre of the island, planted with native vines on the volcanic, sandy slopes of San Bartolomé de Tirajana at an altitude of around 600 metres. The vines are trained in a singular system of traditional Cordón and Trenzado and worked in an organic way.
Production:
100% Malvasía Volcánica grapes from ungrafted vines.
Harvested manually following a careful selection of each bunch. Fermented in barrels and 1500-litre foudres and aged on its lees for 11 months in the same barrels and foudres.
A total production of 3000 bottles.
Tasting Notes:
A dry, remarkably fresh white wine with a distinct mineral character; it displays prominent chalky and salty notes, accompanied by floral, citrus, tropical fruit, and subtle smoky undertones.
Tamerán is a Canarian bodega, located on the hillsides of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in Gran Canaria. It is a young project launched in 2020 by renowned Canarian footballer David Silva, who, with the collaboration and guidance of Jonatan García Lima of Bodega Suertes del Marqués, has quickly risen to prominence, gaining widespread recognition for its exceptional wines.
Built up with great enthusiasm, this project captures both the identity of the region and the essence of its creators. Focusing exclusively on the native grape varieties of the island of Gran Canaria, the winery is committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly viticulture. They work 6 hectares planted with native grape varieties, flourishing in the island's unique volcanic and sandy soils at an altitude of between 600 and 700 metres above sea level.
The resulting wines are shaped by a unique microclimate, volcanic soils, and the distinctive character of the island's indigenous grapes; thus, every bottle is a unique expression of the terroir and the collective effort behind it.
