Titan is an extraordinary wine of terroir with an elegant and complex character, made entirely from Tinta de Toro (the local name for the Tempranillo grape), exclusively ungrafted, sourced from the famous Pago La Jara, and made from specially selected, very old vines between 50 and 100 years old planted on their own roots, phylloxera-free, and organically farmed. After meticulous work in the vineyard, always with the utmost respect for nature and the expression of the terroir, the grapes are hand-harvested to get the most intense and mature fruit.
Production:
The vinification is artisanal in a modern winery. Fermented in cement vats, aged a minimum of 20 months in new French oak barrels and another 15 months in bottle before its release.
Tasting Notes:
Beautifully intense and complex nose, rich with fruit aromas (ripe blackberries, liquorice), subtly spicy with hints of violets and aromatic herbs. Full-bodied with a remarkably supple texture, warm and profound, with rich dark fruit, black cherries, cassis, a floral vein, and a distinct spiciness and minerality. Its fine and elegant tannins make it a super balanced and harmonious wine with a distinctive personality.
Note: It is recommended to decant. With a good structure to age, it should evolve for another 10 to 25 years.
THE WINERY
Proprietor Antony Terry, a vigneron in Toro, made his passion a reality with the support of his family, and, as a result, Dominio del Bendito Winery was born in 2004. From here on, Antony produces authentic and personal wines of the highest quality, exclusively handcrafted red wines made of Tinta de Toro, sourced from the 13 hectares of his own vineyards plus another 15 hectares that he closely oversees. Small plots in one of the best vineyards in Toro: "La Jara", a unique and ancient vineyard site next to the river Duero, enjoying exceptional climatic and geological conditions where most of the vines are very old, over 45 years old, and planted on their own roots, and the rest are between 14 and 30 years old.
