From the 2009 vintage, the wine is elaborated under the new appellation “Vi de la Vila” from Gratallops. This legislation, introduced in 2009 by the DOQ Priorat, recognises and protects each region’s different characteristics (viticulture, climate, soil, etc.) with the purpose of highlighting their particular characteristics. 

Production:

The grapes are sourced from up to 40-year-old vines from their own certified-organic vineyards growing on licorella-sloped hills in Gratallops.

Fermentation takes place in open barrels, and it has been aged for 12 months in new and second-year French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:  

Round, balanced, ripe, but fresh. Deep and very dark in colour, with a marked mineral nose and ripe black fruit aromas. Quite warm on the palate with mineral, dark fruit, and dry herb flavours and a lively acidity.

Notes: Drinking beautifully now and over the next decade.
