Aubages is made from 100% Carignan grapes sourced from a single estate, the Aubagues vineyard in Gratallops. This almost centenary vineyard is planted in costers at an altitude of 280 metres and in different orientations.
This wine is produced in very limited quantities, just 1 barrel, and captures all the personality of this unique estate. It is characterised by its minerality, complexity, ripeness, elegance, smothness, and logevity.
Production:
It goes through spontaneous fermentation at a maximum temperature of 24 oC with two daily pigeages. Gentle extraction and a long maceration of 30 days. Aged for 15 months in new French oak barrels.
284 bottles were produced.
Tasting Notes:
Complex, mature, and elegant. A nose rich with aromas of ripe red fruit, floral and spicy, and its got a mineral feel to it. Rich, complex taste, fleshy to the bite with a beautifully smooth and velvety texture. A real treat for the buds, as it leaves you with a long lasting impression.

Cal Batllet produces wines exclusively from their own vineyards, planted mainly with the autochthonous varieties Grenache and Carignan on licorella soils. The grapes for this remarkable wine are sourced from five different selected Costers (sloped vineyards) on the outskirts of Gratallops, where the age of the vines can reach up to 100 years.
From the 2009 vintage, the wine is produced under the new appellation "Vi de la Vila" from Gratallops. This legislation, introduced in 2009 by the DOQ Priorat, recognises and protects each region’s different characteristics, including viniculture, climate, soil, and others, with the purpose of highlighting their particular characteristics.
