Production: 

Young red wine, a blend mainly of Grenache, is vinified at Maison M. Chapoutier. After destemming, grapes go into concrete and steel tanks for 3 to 4 weeks, followed by a short ageing of 6 months.

Tasting Notes: 

Intense and forward, sweet red fruit, raspberry, and blackcurrant sprinkled with black pepper and backed up by some spicy liquorice notes. Smooth, juicy, and fresh, with silky tannins.

Maison Chapoutier is a leading producer and one of the largest landholders of Hermitage in the Northern Rhône. The company is run by the winemaker Michel Chapoutier, the seventh generation in charge of this famous old firm founded in 1808, owning about 175 acres of vines in the Rhône Valley appellations.

Michel Chapoutier is an outspoken follower and defender of biodynamic and organic farming with a commitment to always achieving higher and higher quality, which is reflected in the actual quality of their wines, which has risen dramatically in recent years. Also a firm believer in the “monocepáge”, most of the red wines are made from 100% Syrah, the whites from 100% Marsanne, and the 100% Grenache for the Châteauneuf du Pape.
