Production: A Popular and traditional Catalan drink, where the production of own home-made Ratafia is still a strong tradition in many villages of the area, here the recipes are passed down through generations. A sweet liqueur, artisanal elaborated, following the family’s recipe which has been passed on from one generation to another for the last 50 years. A traditional maceration during 40 days from a complex formula of herbs, species, fruits with the green nuts from the local region of Rasquera, a municipality in the Comarca of Ribera d’Ebre in the province of Tarragona. The extraction of the aroma is through maceration under anisette or very refined alcohol, generally wine, during a period between one to nine months. At the end of the maceration, the ratafia is filtered and sweetened with sugar, syrup or caramel and followed by an ageing process.
Caramel in Color, sweet flavor, herbs and spices, licorice, warm and persistent with a slight bitter touch.
Drink Ratafia liqueur at room temperature or it can be served cold when drank as an aperitif or digestif, also ideal for desserts and sweets and to accompany dried fruits and nuts.
