Dues Voltes Garnatxa Brisada/Orange is a natural white wine made from the white Garnacha grape variety, following the vinification process for red wine, which consists of a prolonged fermentation of two weeks in amphora in contact with the skin, which provides the wine with a deeper golden colour and body.
Dues Voltes Garnatxa brisada belongs to a range of wines elaborated by Celler Dues Voltes, located in Vila-Seca (Tarragona) under the project created by Enovitis Smart Wines, a project that was born to enhance, protect, and develop traditional grapes, which grow in unique soils and mesoclimates in the Mediterranean arch and provide additional value.
They make terroir wines from single vineyards that represent the local varieties and perfectly capture the characteristics of the terroir from which they come. Ageing is carried out both in amphorae and barrels, producing different types of wines and applying different maceration techniques with the skins to obtain distinctive results.
Production:
The grapes are sourced from a tiny single estate, "the Vilà" vineyard in Horta de Sant Joan (Terra Alta), planted in 1996 and certified organic.
The wine is made under the philosophy of minimum intervention. Hand-harvested with double selection in the vineyards and in the winery. It goes through a prolonged skin contact fermentation for 25 days in a stainless steel vat. Aged for 6 months in a 500-litre French oak barrel.
Small production of 679 bottles. SO2 total: <39 mg/l.
May contain natural sediments.
Tasting Notes:
Colour golden bright. Good aromatic intensity on the nose; balsamic notes intermixed with aromas of white fruit and stone fruit. Ample on the palate, notes of white fruit as well as lovely honeyed tones, while maintaining good freshness and a balanced acidity.
