18 months in American and French oak casks and 24 more months in bottle is the ageing time of the Protos Reserva.
Tasting Notes:
A beautifully crafted wine, cherry and cassis fruits blend in perfectly with the spice and currants. Full-bodied, velvety-textured and fleshy palate displays rich and succulent fruit with deep aromas of oak and fruit and fine and elegant tannins.
Notes: It is recommended to decant. It can be enjoyed very well now through the next decade.
THE WINERY
Since it was founded in 1927, the company has grown rapidly, becoming one of the region’s more well-known brands. This modern winery in the town of Anguix (Burgos) controls 1400 ha spread out over numerous plots with an average size of around 1 hectare dispersed throughout the Ribera del Duero region.
The vineyards are located on the best estates and in areas that are best suited to growing Tempranillo grapes, with the majority of the vineyards planted on south-facing hillsides at elevations of up to 900 metres and comprising a variety of soil types.
