Red wine of great prestige for its exceptional quality and complex elaboration, produced by the renowned Ribera del Duero winery, Vega Sicilia. The winery is an icon in the region; its wines can be described as legendary, ranking among the best red wines in Spain and also worldwide

Valbuena is produced every year and is released to the market after five years. It is at its best when big brother Único is not produced, as then all the best fruit goes into the Valbuena. A legendary wine characterised by its complexity of aroma, expressivity, harmony, and smoothness.

Production: 

A blend where the Tinto Fino variety (Tempranillo), a native variety of Ribera del Duero, has the protagonism. The grapes come from vineyards with an average age of 35 years at an altitude of 700-900 metres.

Fermented with gentle extractions. The ageing time goes for 5 years between wood and bottle. The ageing is adapted throughout the process by playing with the different types of French and American oak casks in order to enhance different characteristics and achieve greater complexity and elegance in the texture.

Tasting Notes: 

Intense ruby-red colour. Rich, ripe, concentrated wine; ripe black fruit combined with toasty new oak and spice. Elegant and complex, velvety textured, with jammy black fruit and spicy notes, with fine, sweet tannins.

Notes: It is recommended to decant before serving. Can be enjoyed now or kept for 25+ years.
