L’Alleu is the first wine made from the Celler Vendrell-Rived. The winemaking is carried out in the traditional manner, almost by hand, sourced from the 12 ha of vines owned by this small family-run winery, established in 2000 in the village of Marça.

The wine is a blend of Garnacha and Cariñena sourced from old vines over 50 years of age from two different vineyards; the Garnacha comes from the Finca "Tros del Coix" and the Cariñena from the Finca "Clot de L’Abella" on clay and limestone soils, located in the Montsant Appellation of Origin between the municipal districts of Marçà and Capçanes.

Production:

The wine has spent 12 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: 

Rounded and ripe, with a classy ripe red fruit nose, concentrated and powerful, with flavours of spice, earthiness, and toasted notes from the oak. Marked tannins with good acidity and character.

Notes: To drink over the next 4–5 years.
