100% Garnacha from vines between 10 and 35 years old from their own vineyards on the "Les Altaroses" estate, north-facing, with loamy and clayey soils.
Hand-harvested. Alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks with indigenous yeasts. Spontaneous fermentation without filtration.
Aged for 15 months in oak barrels. Natural cold stabilisation. Bottled unfiltered
Tasting Notes:
A wine with a fresh and friendly character, red fruit, and a floral, mineral-scented nose. Fresh on the palate, smooth and velvety, with a spicy, floral, and mineral finish.
CELLER JOAN D'ANGUERA
A family winery, still producing wines 200 years later, is run with great success by the new generation of Joan D'Angueras, Josep and Joan. Not only has the wine knowledge and culture been passed on from generation to generation, but also the legacy of passion and determination for mixing tradition with innovation, preserving in this way the values and roots of the family’s culture and carrying them on from fathers to sons.
Because of their love and respect for the land they inherited, they have always employed environmentally friendly products to obtain wines that reflect all the purity of the area where they come from. For this reason, the winery started a conversion process of its vineyards in 2009, following the biodynamic methods of agriculture on their land.
Today, the Demeter certification has been accredited to all the wines from Joan D’anguera, ensuring strict compliance with the international Demeter Production and Processing Standards. As of the 2012 vintage, the certificate will be present on the back label of all its wines. All the wines are certified by the Consell Català and comply with all their rules and regulations.
