Protos 9 Meses is an organic red wine, 100% Tinta del Pais (Tempranillo), a native grape variety from Ribera del Duero. A wine of great subtlety and finesse from 100% certified organic vineyards located on hillsides at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level and in clay-loam soils.
Production:
The wine was fermented and macerated in small stainless steel tanks at 26ºC. Aged for 9 months in new and one-year-old French oak barrels.
THE WINERY
Since it was founded in 1927, the company has grown rapidly, becoming one of the region’s most well-known brands. This modern winery in the town of Anguix (Burgos) controls 1400 ha spread out over numerous plots with an average size of around 1 hectare dispersed throughout the Ribera del Duero region.
The vineyards are located on the best estates and in areas that are best suited to growing Tempranillo grapes, with the majority of the vineyards planted on south-facing hillsides at elevations of up to 900 metres and comprising a variety of soil types.
