Bellmunt is classified as "Vi de Vila" (Village Wine), the new legislation introduced in 2009 by the DOQ Priorat, which recognises and protects each region’s different characteristics, such as viniculture, climate, soil, etc., with the purpose of highlighting their own characteristics.

Production: 

Aged for 10 months, 50% in 3000-litre oak foudres and 50% in concrete vats of 3000 liters.

Tasting Notes:  Aromatic nose of mature fruits, red berries, and dry fruits combined with balsamic notes and mineral hints. The wine is medium-bodied, silky, and ripe, showing good fruit intensity on the palate and fine acidity. Finishing with freshness and length.

Notes: Enjoy it over the next 4-6 years.

THE WINERY

Since 1998, the Rovira family has owned the 125-ha estate known as Mas D’en Gil. It is located in the Bellmunt del Priorat district, in the southern part of the historic Priorat region. It has 45 ha of vine-planted terraces and hillsides at 300 meters above sea level with soils made of the distinctive Priorat slate soil.
