Malvasía de Sitges by Miquel Pons is one of the new wines promoted by the new generations of the winery Cava Miquel Pons, a family brand with a history of more than 250 years and various generations passing on the legacy inherited, including their love for the land.

At Miquel Pons, they seek to capture the varietal character and carry on this legacy with a 100% Malvasía de Sitges. Producing a wine with exceptional potential at a time when indigenous varieties are making a comeback as wines that represent a territory. Malvasía de Sitges stands out as a unique gem capable of bringing together history, quality and terroir in a single glass.

Production:

A signature wine with a marked Mediterranean character. It is a limited edition, with the grapes coming from a single estate, "El Messeguer", owned by Miquel Pons and located in the very heart of the Penedès region. A historic vineyard consisting of 1 hectare of Malvasia vines, a native variety in the process of recovery. 

Vinified and matured in-house, entirely organically produced. Aged for 6 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, followed by a further two months in the bottle.

Total production of 1992 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

The wine has a pale, bright yellow colour. Aromatic nose with a marked Mediterranean character and notes of white stone fruit and tropical fruit mingling with herbaceous and floral notes. Fresh and elegant on the palate, with an unctuous texture and light and saline touches, good acidity and freshness.
