Vinification:

Aretheal Garnatxa-Carinyena (Gold Label) is a blend of Red Grenache and Carignan. The grapes are grown on different plots in the Gratallops and Torroja del Priorat regions. Vineyards in Costers (steep slopes) and Llicorella (slate) soils. Grown organically (pending certification).

Grapes harvested by hand. The two varieties are vinified together. Fermented with indigenous yeasts for 25 days with quiet pumping over. Aged for 13-14 months in barrels of different sizes and ages.

Production of 830 bottles.

Tasting Notes: 

A wine with the tipicity of a classic Priorat. Intense cherry red colour. Intense aromas of red and black fruit in compote, hints of undergrowth herbs. Good structure, ample, silky tannins, notes of fruit in liqueur, and good persistence.

Arethea is Marc Aguiló's project, a small and recently established project that denotes enthusiasm and commitment. Arethea produces a small range with limited productions from singular vineyards within the DOQ Priorat. Wines that transmit the essence of the terroir where they come from.

The project's three wines, one white and two red, come from three plots that are situated in an exceptional location: "Coll de Porrera", between the villages of Falset and Porrera. Old vines growing in vineyards in Costers (natural steep slopes), made up of slate soils (Llicorella) at an altitude of 580 meters above sea level and different orientations.

The vines are cultivated in a traditional manner, following the guidelines of organic farming with the utmost respect for the environment and observing the lunar cycle.
