Destí Sols Garnatxa Negra is the single-varietal black Grenache wine, 100% estate-grown red wine from Merum Prioriti winery in Porrera.
The grapes are sourced exclusively from the three estates owned by the Bodega, making a total of 29 ha planted with vines. Their vineyards are planted on a slate terrain on the hillsides of Porrera village, a terrain that is locally known as "llicorella".
Destí is 100% Porrera wine, 100% Grenache. It is a wine that reflects the purest expression of the Garnacha varietal and the essence of the distinctive terroir where it comes from. It enjoys the prestige of being classified as “Vi de Vila” and certified as “Viticultura Heróica” by CERVIM, the Centre for Research, Environmental Sustainability, and Advancement of Mountain Viticulture, the international organisation in charge of promoting and protecting heroic viticulture.
Production:
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, and then gently pressed using a pneumatic horizontal press. Fermented in steel vats at a controlled temperature before maturing for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 66% of the wine in 500-litre used barrels and 33% in 225-litre new oak barrels. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.
This is a limited edition of 1300 bottles.
Tasting Notes:
Pure expression of the Garnacha varietal. A very elegant, fine, and fresh red Garnacha, displaying intense cherry red color. On the nose, it shows a great aromatic intensity, layers of ripe red fruit, liquorice notes, and mineral undertones, with subtle hints of aromatic Mediterranean scrubland herbs and light notes of black pepper.
It presents a very pleasant palate while showing intensity and depth. Balanced acidity, very expressive, velvety tannins, and a long finish with an ample aftertaste.
