Production:

Aged for 20 months in new oak from the best forests in Europe of 300 l. (70% new and 30% second year). The vineyards are planted on steep hillsides just east of Tarragona. The yields are very low, around 4 hl/ha.

Tasting Notes: 

A fine mineral expression with a complex and fresh nose of intense mature dark fruits, wild herbs, spices, chocolate and mineral hints. On the palate, it is rich with plenty of dark fruit and earthy notes. Well structured with very fine tannins. Long aftertaste. A wine that fully expresses its roots.

CELLER CLOS MOGADOR

Clos Mogador is located in Gratallops, in the heart of the Priorat hills. The winery was founded in 1989 by René Barbier.  The terraced Clos Mogador vineyards form a gigantic natural amphitheatre above the Siurana River, with an average altitude of 450 metres above sea level. His star wine is Clos Mogador, made from Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carignan. The Grenache vines are over 80 years old.
