Production:
The grapes are sourced from 60-year-old Grenache vines and 40-50-year-old Carignan vines. The vineyards are located around the villages of Marcà and Capçanes at an altitude of 320-350 meters above sea level. Ecologic winegrowing.
Aged for 12 months in new French and American medium-toasted oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:
A fresh, elegant red wine with excellent black mature fruit, minerals, and hints of spices. Plenty of flavour and character, a soft, creamy texture, and well-rounded, mature tannins to finish with.
Coca i Fitó is about the brothers Toni and Miquel, the driving force behind this unique and innovative Celler that creates singular and very much appreciated great quality wines. Coca i Fitó is the brand that identifies the winery's more singular wines.
The wines are made by Toni, a renowed oenologist with an extensive curriculum and a great reputation in the area. Their project, which began in 2006 in DO Montsant, has not stopped expanding, always searching for new challenges and wine-producing regions to add to their already impressive and interesting range of wines. They have since added DO Terra Alta, DO Empordá, and recently also started making wine in the DO Ribeira Sacra.
