Estate wine, which brings together the qualities of parts of the 4 "paratges" of La Vila del Lloar that make up the estate. Elaborated by Alfredo Arribas at the Clos del Portal estate in the D.O.Q. Priorat, it is produced from a blend of grapes, of which Grenache is the primary variety, followed by smaller proportions of Carignan and Syrah, all of them sourced from their own vineyards, 50 hectares of small parcels made up of the characteristic "Licorella" slate soils. The vineyards are located at the Vila de Lloar, on fairly steep slopes, alternating between "costers" and terraces. Organic-based viticulture transitioning towards a fully biodynamic approach.
Production:
The harvest is done manually with a rigorous selection bunch by bunch at the vineyard, using in the elaboration of the Negre de Negres the early bunches to ripen; it is submitted to a short maceration with less extraction. Fermentation takes place with autochthonous yeasts in stainless steel vats. Ageing for 15 months in Foudre and French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:
Warm and generous, with fragrant scents of ripe black fruit marked by the characteristic spicy and mineral notes together with some earthy tones. Pleasantly smooth palate, rich red fruit with subtle oak and flavours of spice. Should gain with maturity.
