Production:

Ronçavall is a single-estate wine from a 75-year-old vineyard planted by Marc Ripoll’s grandfather on a steep slate slope near the village of Torroja del Priorat. A 100% Carignan wine biodynamically farmed and aged for 15 months in a 225-litre new French oak barrel.

Limited production of 376 bottles.

From the vintage 2009, the wine is elaborated under the new appellation "Vi de la Vila" from Torroja. This legislation, introduced in 2009 by the DOQ Priorat, recognises and protects each region’s different characteristics, viniculture, climate, soil, etc., with the purpose of highlighting their particular characteristics. Cal Batllet produces wines exclusively from their own vineyards, planted mainly with the autochthonous varieties Grenache and Carignan on licorella soils.

Tasting Notes:

Complex, full-bodied, elegant red and black fruit notes of cassis and spices, as well as marked minerality, smooth and silky texture; the palate has a fruity and fresh flow, yet it shows depth and charm. Pure pleasure!
