Les Sentius is a blend of the best grapes of Grenache from younger vines situated in Bellmunt, with a smaller percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon from the village of El Molar and Syrah.

Vinification: 

Harvested manually, it has spent 15 months in 1st and 2nd year (50% and 40% from Les Eres) and 10% in new French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:

Crunchy redcurrants and cherries with a characteristic nose of minerals and toast. Dense and full-bodied, spice and mineral, ripe, firm tannins, and good length.

Notes: It can be drunk now or during the next 3-4 years. 

THE WINERY

The winery is owned by Gerard Batllevell Simó, a descendant of a family of local winegrowers. In 1999, he restored the basement of their historic house in Porrera into a modern winery, and with his father's support and the advice of family and friends, he produced the first vintage that same year. 

Their vineyards, mainly dominated by slate soils, known locally as llicorella, are split into 2 zones: the high-altitude, cool vineyards around the village of Porrera and La Garrantxa:

Les Eres, situated on a steep terraced coster overlooking the village of Porrera, has 3 hectares planted 93 years ago with vines of Carignan and Grenache.

The lower, hotter vineyards around Bellmunt de Priorat, Tros Nou, have 3800 vines planted 87 years ago, mainly with Grenache peluda and Carignan.

Els Carners was planted only 83 years ago with 1500 vines of Carignan and Grenache.
