Mon Coeur is the most popular wine in the "Negociant" range from J.L. Chave Selection, created in 1995 by the renowned Hermitage producer Jean-Louis Chave.

For his line of Selection wines, and unlike those from his family's Domaine, Jean-Louis sources grapes from trusted winegrowers in the Southern Rhone region, though he maintains strict quality control by personally overseeing both the selection of the plots and the final assemblage.

Production: 

Mon Coeur is a blend of Grenache and Syrah in equal proportions. The grapes are sourced from vineyards located in the vicinity of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. It is a wine of great freshness that focuses on highlighting the purity of the fruit without being overpowered by the oak.

The wine ages for a few months in vats and large foudres.

It has an excellent ageing potential; it can develop positively in the bottle for 5+ years.

 

Tasting Notes: 

A good concentration of slightly smoky plum and cherry fruits, a touch of white pepper, and a tangy herbal edge. Medium-bodied with flavours of red fruit, pastry, spicy and menthol notes and a fine, smooth finish.
