BMA etiqueta blanca (white label) comes on the market every year; it is the hallmark of the winery and the wine that expresses the essence of Bosque Matasnos. The result of an exciting project born in the highlands of the Ribera del Duero, a unique place surrounded by forest where all the grapes that make their wine are sourced.
The Bosque is a sustainable winery with an endless source of natural resources. All the work is done manually, from the field to the winery, and goes through the process of rigorously selecting all the raw materials, not only the best grapes but also the best cooperages in the world.
Production:
Made from 94% Tempranillo grapes and complemented with small percentages of Merlot and Malbec. The grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards at 950 meters in the area of Peñaranda de Duero, on loamy, clayey, and sandy soils.
Grapes are hand sorted and strictly selected, going through a double sorting table once they enter the cellar. Fermented only using indigenous yeasts, slow fermentation at a controlled temperature.
Ageing for 12 months in oak barrels (70% new). Clarified with natural egg white.
Tasting Notes:
A fine, elegant wine with a distinct origin that of its vineyard in the middle of the bosque of Matasanos. Shows an intense, deep cherry colour, clear and brilliant. Red and black fruit expression. Scents of raspberry, citrus, vanilla, liquorice, slightly balsamic, and a touch of earthiness. Flavourful and rich on the palate, with dark berry fruit flavours and fine tannins, with flavors of spice and liquorice.
