Les Argiles de Orto Vins is a young red wine, fresh and lively, with a distinctive varietal hallmark, characterised by its approachability and charm.

It has been elaborated with the traditional varieties of the region, with Grenache being the main variety and, in smaller proportion, Carignan, both sourced from their own vineyards, planted with 20- to 90-year-old vines on 20 hectares scattered in 12 different plots at an altitude of 52-230 metres above sea level. The plots are located around the village of El Masroig in the region of Priorat and within the appellation of Montsant.

Production: 

The wine has spent three months on its lees in French oak barrels. The vinification is done at the Cooperativa del Molar.

For consuming over the next 3–4 years.

Tasting Notes:

Fresh and fruity, with rich scents of summer red fruits like raspberry and cherry. Dry, quite fruity yet light, soft-textured, with a very fresh and friendly style, gentle tannins, and a clean, smooth finish.

Orto Vins started in 2008 as the result of a joint project by four vine growers from El Masroig, a small village inside the appellation of Montsant in the Catalonia region.

Jordi Beltran, Josep Mª Beltran, Josep Mª Jové, and Joan Asens all come from families with a long tradition in vine growing. With this project, headed by Joan Asens, an experienced oenologist best known for his work during 15 years in Alvaro Palacio's winery in Gratallops, where he was in charge of the viticulture and vinification side, they return to their origins and continue to blend the finest quality wines from their own vineyards, according to their traditions.
