Made from 100% Trepat, a grape variety indigenous to the Conca de Barberà region.
The grapes are harvested manually, slightly overripe, selected from vines over 50 years of age.
Aged in 225-litre new French oak barrels for seven months.
Tasting Notes:
An intense and frank nose with scents of red berry fruit and hints of cinnamon. Soft entry on the palate, medium-bodied, displays clear spicy fruit and a taste of jammy fruit. Elegant and long finish.
CELLER CARLES ANDREU
This is a small, family-owned winery whose roots can be traced to 1781. As recorded in the history archives, the family has been dedicated to growing vines ever since the 18th century.
Today the family owns 80 ha of vineyards in the Conca de Barberà, and it is run by Carles Andreu, who, in 1991, continuing with the family tradition, established the actual bodega that bears his name in the town of Pira. There, they produce a selection of cavas and wines of high quality.
