Elaborated from the local variety Grenache, sourced from low-yielding old vines planted on slate soils.
Production:
Fermentation in stainless steel for 15 days at a temperature of 25ºC, followed by 2 months of ageing in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Intense nose with aromas of ripe red fruits combined with balsamic and mineral notes. On the palate, it is fruity and fresh, with a pleasant spicy and savoury finish. A very friendly wine!

Bodegas Ateca is one of the seven companies that compose the Gil Family Estates, a project that unifies a series of selected and interesting wineries from different DOs in Spain, each with its own personality. The winery was established in 2005 and is situated in the town of Ateca, 14 kilometres from Calatayud (Zaragoza). Their 55 hectares of vineyards, which are divided up into small sites, are planted predominantly with old Grenache vines on slate soils and can be found at higher elevations around the hillsides of the Ateca mountains.
