Serving Temperature:  16º - 18º

Elaborated from 70–90-year-old Grenache and Carignan vines as well as from younger vines of the other varieties. The vineyards are planted on steep hillsides at an altitude of 350-450 metres above sea level. The soil is made up of the characteristic Slate, named “Licorella”.

Production:
The grapes are hand-sorted both in the vineyard and the cellar to remove overripe grapes.   

The wine has been aged for 14 months in new and second-year very fine-grained French oak barrels.

The wine has been bottled without clarification or filtering.

 

Tasting Notes: 

Big and concentrated, with pleasing flavours of very ripe, jammy fruit, slight spiciness, and mineral notes. It is meaty and warm and shows a palate of rich chocolate and ripe cherries. Some firm tannins on the finish. A wine that clearly transmits the authentic character of Priorat.
