Production:
100% Chardonnay wines from various years. A blend of 25% reserve wines from the two previous years.
The grapes are harvested from Premier Crus from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims terroirs.
Tasting notes: A beautiful pale golden yellow color. An intensely aromatic nose of fresh fruit, especially ripe citrus fruits, entwined with floral notes of white flowers and white fruits, peaches, and pineapple. The palate is smooth and round, with elegant acidity and excellent freshness.
Note: Ideal for aperitifs, it pairs perfectly with seafood, shellfish, and other fish dishes.
Ruinart is the oldest champagne house, it was founded in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart, a linen merchant and nephew of renowned winemaker Dom Thierry Ruinart, and a close colleague of Dom Pérignon. The firm's Gallo-Roman chalk cellars (known as "Crayères") are the finest in Reims, and are considered a national monument.
The firm owns vineyards on the eastern side of the Montagne de Reims, mainly at Sillery and Puissieulx. The Chardonnay grown in these vineyards has much more power than those from the Côte des Blancs, which is reflected in the richness in the wines.
