Production: 

A blend of mostly Carignan and, in a smaller proportion, Grenache grapes sourced from very old vines growing in the upper part of "La Tena".

Aged for 16 months in mostly new French oak barrels with a small percentage of 2nd-year ones. The wines are bottled after light filtration.

Tasting notes:

Very intense and forward, with ripe black fruit and a spicy-scented nose. Full-bodied with plenty of jammy black fruit on the palate and wonderful hints of sweet spices, toast, and mineral flavours; good balance between fruit and wood; silky texture; and a round and warming finish.

Notes: It is recommended to decant it or let it breathe in the glass for a time to achieve its maximum potential.

THE WINERY

Clos Dominic is a small, family-run winery established in 1998 that elaborates small quantities of lovely, well-made, handcrafted wines with all their passion and perfectionist attention. Caring to always produce the best wine while remaining faithful to the terroir and their ancestors' customs, their quality, along with the authentic personality of the great Priorat wines, is what makes them successful.

They practise sustainable and minimalist viticulture, totally respecting the values of the fruit and the traditional winemaking process. They count on their best asset, which is "La Tena", a sloped 7 ha vineyard with an age range of 64 to 100 years and one of the best plots in the Priorat, located in the municipal district of Porrera at an altitude of 430 metres.
