Classic Priorat is the red wine from Priorat produced by Lectores Vini, Fredi Torres' innovative project established in 2016. Fredi Torres has the valuable experience of having worked in a number of different wineries in the region, the last one in Saó del Coster, before embarking on his personal project in 2014. This involved producing a new line of wines with grapes from old vineyards that he bought and subsequently recovered. Most of the vineyards are located around Gratallops, within the Priorat appellation, and also some vineyards within the Montsant appellation. He also works hand in hand with winegrowers from different areas of the Catalan Coast, cultivating small plots spread across different communities.
Since 2023, the project has become a joint venture with his friend Ollivier JACQ. They continue to create fresh and vibrant wines, committed to their principles of working with the autochthonous grapes of Catalonia. This way, their wines faithfully represent the authenticity and purity of the Mediterranean terroir from which they come. They currently make wines in four regions of Catalonia: Montsant, Priorat, Conca de Barberà, and Penedes.
Fredi practises an integrated viticulture approach, entirely by hand, in harmony with the environment and respect for the terroir. The grapes are organically grown and vinified naturally, and they offer an exceptional quality-to-price ratio.
Production:
The wine is a blend of mostly Grenache and a small proportion of Carignan and other red grapes sourced from slate soils. It comes from low-yield vineyards organically farmed with an average age of 25 years, located in Torroja and Gratallops at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level.
Grapes handpicked and hand-selected. All the grapes are fully destemmed. Macerated for three weeks with periodic gentle pigeage. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with autochthonous yeasts. The wine matures for 15 months, partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in used French oak barrels. Gently filtered before bottling.

Tasting Notes:
Clean and bright with a beautiful ruby colour. Scents of cherry and strawberry with a touch of spiciness and fresh herb notes. Fresh and youthful feeling on the palate, with well-integrated fine tannins. Fresh and long aftertaste.
