Llum Cal Pagès is a blend of the region's native varieties par excellence: Carignan and Grenache. It is a wine that displays typicity, elegance and fruitiness. The wine represents the ultimate expression of the terroir and the essence of Priorat's heroic viticulture.

Produced by L'Antic Magatzem, a small family-run winery located in the village of Porrera in the acclaimed Priorat wine region. It is a young project with deep roots in the region. It was set up in 2022 by Adriá Domenech Simon, a young winegrower and the sixth generation of a family of winegrowers, the Cal Pagès family, who, for decades, have cultivated and cared for the family lands, ensuring that their legacy is passed down from generation to generation in "its best form".

Adriá is the first generation in the family to take the step of making his own wine using the grapes from the family vineyards, which were previously sold to other producers. To develop his project, he built the winery in the basement of his mother's family home, Cal Simó, in a space that had previously been used as a warehouse, hence its name, "magatzem".

Adriá crafts all the wines from the family estate grapes, located in the district of Porrera: "Les Sentius" and "El Bosc". Despite being such a young winery, it has already received numerous awards for the quality of its wines, which are handcrafted and produced in very limited quantities.

Production:

The grapes come from the estate vineyards in the area of "Les Sentius i el Bosc". Vines between 20 and 25 years old planted on south-facing slopes (Costers) in llicorella soils.

The wine has been partially fermented with its own pulp and macerated with the skin for 21 days.

The wine is aged for 12 months in amphora.

Limited production of 1270 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

Intense ruby colour. The nose is dominated by ripe and black fruit; plum and a hint of violet intermingle with spicy and mineral notes. On the palate, it shows freshness, balance and elegance with fine tannins and well-integrated acidity.
