Production: Elaborated from 100% Mencía grapes, selected from over 80 years old vines planted on slated soils in the higher areas of the Bierzo region. Fermentation in Stainless Steel Vats at temperature controlled, afterwards remains in French and American oak barrels for 2 months.
Cuatro Pasos named after the discovery of four bear footprints in a magnificent vineyard in the highest areas of the Bierzo is elaborated by Bodegas Cuatro Pasos, the new project from Martin Códax in the Denomination of Bierzo, established in 2003 at the foot of the Camino ed Santiago, in a magnificent eighteenth century manor mansion which had previously housed a winery and with this project it returns once again to its splendor.
Tasting Notes: Lovely open nose of red fruits combined with light toasted notes. Smooth-textured, flavorful wine with good intensity of fruit on the palate, elegant and balanced, it will drink well over the next 3-4 years.
