Cuatro Pasos is named after the discovery of four bear footprints in a magnificent vineyard in the highest areas of the Bierzo. It is elaborated by Bodegas Cuatro Pasos, the new project from Martin Códax in the Denomination of Bierzo, that was established in 2003 at the foot of the Camino de Santiago, in a magnificent eighteenth-century manor mansion that had previously housed a winery, and with this project it returns once again to its splendor. 

Production:  

Elaborated from 100% Mencía grapes, selected from over 80-year-old vines planted on slated soils in the higher areas of the Bierzo region. Fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, then remains in French and American oak barrels for 2 months.  

Tasting Notes:

Lovely open nose of red fruits combined with light toasted notes. Smooth-textured, flavorful wine with good intensity of fruit on the palate, elegant and balanced, it will drink well over the next 3-4 years.
