Sourced from a selection of the best grapes from vine stocks with an average age of 60 years. The 50 ha. of vineyards are located in different plots around four villages in the Rioja Alavesa: Samaniego, Leza, Elciego, and Laguarda.
Harvested manually and followed by a careful sorting of the grapes at the winery. The malolactic fermentation took place in small stainless steel tanks and a 700-litre French oak barrel, followed by 20 months of ageing in new French oak casks.Wine obtained through a system developed by the winery, which consists of extraction without oxidation or friction by means of a water-filled membrane bag.
Tasting Notes:
Intense nose with layers of liquorice, cherries, blackberries, and spices with smooth, creamy oak notes. On the palate, a good concentration of cherry fruit, a soft entry showing a silky texture with some fairly serious tannins but well integrated. Long, creamy aftertaste.
Notes: It is recommended to let the wine breathe, as it will improve greatly with aeration.
