Sumarroca Bodega was founded in 1986. This house produces a wide range of very good, reliable, and well-priced wines. Currently, comprises of 455 ha located in the beautiful Penedès region; this makes it a sizable estate and allows them to supply the wineries with 100% of the grapes they require to produce their wines and cavas.
Elaborated from the three traditional cava varieties: Macabeu, Xarelo and Parellada complementing the blend with the universal Chardonnay, all sourced from the excellent fincas of their own estate: Sumarroca, Molí Coloma and Sabartés, and which are organically farmed and aged for an average of 24 months.
Pale yellow in colour, with consistent small bubbles forming a slight circular crown in the glass. Scents of fresh fruit and some elegant aromatic herbs hint. Clean and creamy entry in the mouth, slightly sweet due to the addition of expedition liqueur, balanced acidity, and a graceful, lasting bead of tiny bubbles.
Note: Best consumed up to 12–18 months after the disgorgement date. Ideal to accompany a meal from beginning to end.
