Production:

Made from a rigorous selection of 100% old Tinto Fino vines, also known as Tinta del Pais, a local variant of Rioja’s Tempranillo) ranging in age from 25 to 50 years and produces low yields, sourced from a 20 hectare of vines located in the municipal district of La Horra.

Each Finca was vinified separately in small stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. Ageing in Foudres and in new (20%) and second-year French oak barriques for approximately 18 months.

Tasting Notes:

Fresh black fruit-scented nose combined with nicely mineral, spice, and balsamic notes. Harmonious and sumptuous palate, smooth texture, good volume and depth, with a good fruit character and refined tannins.

Notes: A two-hour decant is recommended. It will continue to develop over the next 3–4 years, and it will drink nicely for a long time.

Dominio de Pingus is a well-known and reputable winery, not only in Ribera del Duero but worldwide as well. With its flagship wine, Pingus, often cited as Ribera del Duero Spain’s best red, whenever excellent wines are addressed, it has enjoyed enormous success internationally. This relatively small state has become a top address in the area thanks to the efforts of the well-known and acclaimed Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck, who is also the winemaker for Hacienda Monasterio and PSI.

The winery was founded in 1995 and is located 30 km from Roa in the province of Burgos. It is an artisan winery with a very small production, which allows for extra carefulness in the final quality of its products. Since 2001, biodynamic viticulture has been employed to achieve a healthier balance in the vineyards.
