Serving Temperature:  We recommend serving the wine at 16ºC. The mature style of these wines requires a cooler temperature for tasting.

Bessons is a single-estate wine sourced from over 60-year-old vines of Grenache. The grapes are grown in the "Pineyard", an own-vineyard composed of old vines growing on very poor and dry soil on the slated steep slopes in the municipal district of Torroja del Priorat.

Production: 

The wine has fermented in open stain steel vats and French oak barrels of 600 literes, with an ageing period of 18 months. The vineyard has been organically farmed since 2007. Small production of 900 bottles.

Tasting Notes: 

Mature nose, figs and plums, ripe berry fruit, spice hints, chocolate, tobacco, and mineral and balsamic notes. A sumptuous palate of rich fruit, broad and intense, with integrated spice and acidity. Finishing with an outstanding length and a ripe fruit-filled aftertaste.

The Bessons is part of the recently renamed winery as Coastal Wines, the personal project of Antoni Sanchez Ortiz and with his new partner, Behn Payten. Toni is in charge of this tiny but very interesting Project. He is a great professional in the wine business and fully committed to quality.

Antoni has a formidable curriculum when it comes to winemaking and brings his formidable experience and youthful passion to the making of this beautifully crafted wine.
