Pas de deux is made by Tatjana Peceric, head of oenology at Terroir al Limit Celler. This is her own personal wine project; she already collaborates with Dominik Huber on the Terroir Sense Fronteres project, the Terroir al Limit range of wines based on the DO Montsant.
The wine is a 50-50 blend of Garnacha and Carignan from 50–60-year-old vines in the Montsant region. High altitude vineyards above the village of Cornudella at 700 metres above sea level and soils of light red clay with gypsum veins.
This is a wine crafted on the vineyard using organic farming techniques and minimal interventionist principles. It has a marked Mediterranean character and it shows great freshness, elegance, and a silky texture.
Small production of 2300 bottles.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand-picked. Whole bunch fermented, no destemming, and an extremely gentle extraction. Aged mainly in steel tank with a small part in a clay amphora.
Tasting notes:
Beautiful cherry red colour. Clean and fresh. Fragrant nose with a marked Mediterranean character, scents of raspberry and cherry with attractive floral touches and wild herbs. Medium bodied, quite juicy, good fresh acidity nicely supported by silky tannins, all finesse and elegance with a long and persistent finish.
