A single vineyard wine, Finca A Ponte, located in the highest part of Amandi at 400-550 metres above sea level from 10-year-old vines planted on granite and slate soils. Guímaro A Ponte is a blend where the Mencía is in a similar proportion to the other local autochthonous varieties used in the blend.

Production: 

Hand harvested, fermented in conical tanks with indigenous yeasts, full clusters of grapes. The wine matures in a 5000-litre oak barrel for 12 months. Bottled in March 2022 without clarification or filtering.

Tasting Note:

A Ponte is a wine that improves vintage after vintage, displaying good complexity and depth, all despite the young ages of the vines where it comes from. Clean and fresh, floral, spiced notes, quite juicy and fresh on the palate, finesse and elegance all the way till the end.

Notes: Drinks nicely for 3–4 years

ADEGAS GUÍMARO is a small family winery that produces a small and selected amount of wine in the traditional way. They own 8 hectares comprising 30- to 100-year-old vines and work another 12 to 14 hectares under their control. The vines are planted in single-row plots in a privileged natural setting on steep slopes ranging between 50% and 70%. They collaborate with other wineries such as Niepoort and Raúl Pérez.
