Production:
Made with 100% Tinta de Toro (local name for the Tempranillo grape). The grapes were selected from vineyards ranging from 15 to 40 years of age (60%) and the rest from vineyards over 45 years of age.
After meticulous work at the vineyard, always with total respect for nature and the expression of the terroir, the grapes are hand-harvested to obtain the most intense and mature fruit.
The vinification is artisanal in a modern winery. Fermentation takes place in small stainless steel and cement tanks between 12 and 25 days. Matured for at least 6 months in American and French oak barrels, followed by another 3 months resting in bottle before its release. Certified Ecological.
Tasting Notes:
A wine that stands out for its elegance and complexity. Smooth, ripe red and black fruits entwined with vanilla, cacao, and mocha coffee. On the palate, a burst of dark and red berry fruits with well-structured and firm tannins that take over at the finish with lingering flavours of liquorice and coffee.
Note: Drinking nicely over the next 5–8 years.
THE WINERY
Proprietor Antony Terry, a vigneron in Toro, made his passion a reality with the support of his family, and, as a result, Dominio del Bendito winery was born in 2004. From here on, Antony produces authentic and personal wines of the highest quality, exclusively handcrafted red wines made of Tinta de Toro, sourced from the 13 hectares of his own vineyards plus another 15 hectares that he closely oversees. Small plots in one of the best vineyards in Toro: "La Jara", a unique and ancient vineyard site next to the river Duero, enjoying exceptional climatic and geological conditions, where most of the vines are very old, over 45 years old, planted on their own roots, and the rest between 14 and 30 years old.
