Fagus is the pride of Bodegas Aragonesas, the flagship of the winery's most well-known brand, "Coto de Hayas". Fagus reflects the spectacularity that their garnacha is able to offer.

It is a selection of the best Garnacha grapes over 40 years of age with very low yields. It is made entirely from the Garnacha variety, sourced from different vineyards over the last three vintages: 86% from the current vintage and 7% each from the previous and next vintages.

Production: 

Hand harvested, traditional winemaking, fermented at a controlled temperature of 28 degrees. Two weeks of maceration with the skins. Aged in new French oak barrels with its lees for 9 months. After the ageing, there is a selection of the best barrels to complete the coupage and proceed with the bottling.

Tasting notes:

Intense cherry red colour. Good aromatic intensity, with aromas of mature red fruit (plum, cherry), combined with mineral, spicy, coffee, and vanilla notes. In the mouth, it has volume and concentration, all finesse and elegance, good fruit presence, and a soft, sweet, well-integrated tannin. A wine with good acidity and a long aftertaste.
