Gratallops "Vi de Vila" is a perfect representation of the outstanding terroir where it comes from and the passion with which it is made. Sourced from a selection of the best grapes picked from a selection of 6 different small vineyards situated around the village of Gratallops. All of them were planted on Licorella soil, facing north and east at an altitude between 300 and 430 m above sea level, with ages ranging from 19 to 75 years.
Production:
Selective harvesting with crops at just 20.2 hl/ha. Grapes destemmed, lightly pressed, and fermented in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. Aged for 16 months in oval oak barrels and boccois.
The wine will evolve for 3–4 years and can be kept for 8-10 years, as it shows great potential for ageing.
Tasting Notes:
This is a top-quality wine with a characteristic nose of mature red fruits, cherries, floral notes, spices, and balsamic notes. Dense and fleshy on the palate, intense flavours of ripe fruit aromas, blackberry, and raspberry. It displays a great complexity and a harmonious structure. Fine tannins on a long and rich finish.
